BTS has added another achievement to its growing Spotify record collection.
On Friday (July 17), Spotify announced that the group’s “NORMAL” established a new record as the most-streamed K-pop music video in a single day in the platform’s history.
The streaming platform shared the news through its official Instagram and X accounts.
The music video for “NORMAL” debuted on Friday and will remain available exclusively on Spotify during its first 48 hours.
Helmed by Ukrainian director Tanu Muino, the snow-covered visual premiered at midnight and presents BTS away from the spotlight, with Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jung Kook relaxing inside an elegant mansion while enjoying simple moments together.
To view BTS’ “NORMAL” music video, Premium subscribers in beta markets can launch Spotify on their TV, desktop, iOS or Android device, search for “NORMAL” by BTS, start playback and select “Switch to video.”
“NORMAL” is featured on BTS’ fifth studio album, ARIRANG, and serves as the album’s second single after “SWIM.” Interscope/Capitol Records is scheduled to begin promoting “NORMAL” to pop radio during the week of July 27.
“SWIM” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in April, while ARIRANG entered the Billboard 200 at No. 1. Those accomplishments gave the global superstars their seventh chart-topping album and seventh No. 1 single respectively.
After its release on March 20, ARIRANG became the most-streamed K-pop album in Spotify history.
BTS’ ARIRANG world tour continues with two performances at Stade de France in Saint-Denis, France, on July 17-18 before the group travels to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 19 to co-headline the inaugural FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show alongside Justin Bieber, Madonna and Shakira.
