Google Launches September 2026 Android Drop With Major New Features

Google is rolling out its September 2026 Android Drop today, bringing several major features to users. The latest additions in the September Android Drop are designed to make staying connected easier. From helping you remember where important belongings are through Find Hub to easing motion sickness while traveling, your device is built to better adapt to everyday life.

Find Hub Remembered

Find Hub and Gemini can now remember the locations of items that do not have a tracker tag attached. Users can now ask “Gemini to remember where you placed important items.” For instance, you can say, “Hey Google, remember in Find Hub that I put my passport in my bedroom drawer,” and also attach a photo.

The saved location will appear under a new “Remembered” tab within the Find Hub app. You can also use a voice command to ask Gemini where the item was placed. The feature is rolling out to devices running Android 16+.

Motion Assist

Motion Assist, available on Android 17+, is designed to help minimize motion sickness by displaying a subtle bubble overlay that moves along with the vehicle. The feature is “designed to help bridge the gap between what your eyes see and the movement of your ride.”

Users can adjust the overlay’s color, shape, and opacity. There is also a setting that allows the color and shape to change automatically every few seconds.

Android can automatically activate Motion Assist when movement is detected in a car, bus, or train. A shortcut is also available through a Quick Settings Tile.

Gemini Live Guided Vision

Gemini Live is introducing Guided Vision, which provides verbal “descriptions of what’s in front of you.” Potential uses include “reading fine print on a food label, ordering from a menu in a low-lit restaurant, or locating household objects.”

When the camera is not positioned correctly, voice guidance will help you reframe the shot, pan around an area, or center an object, allowing you to receive the information you need.

Guided Vision can be accessed through an Accessibility shortcut or the TalkBack menu. The feature is “coming soon to phones running Android 9+ in countries where Gemini is available.”

Google Messages Keep integration

After the broad rollout of Chat themes, Google Messages is now gaining Google Keep integration. The addition allows users to “share and update grocery lists or vacation notes right inside your chat.”

A “Create list” recommendation and a shortcut in the ‘plus’ menu will open a sheet where you can begin creating a list. After it is completed, the list will be displayed inline as a shared note. The integration begins rolling out today.
