Mustafa Demirören to Champion Turkey in the Küresel Borsa Getiri Yarışması

At 68, Mustafa Demirören, one of Turkey’s most seasoned investment experts, is ready to represent his country in the upcoming Küresel Borsa Getiri Yarışması (Worldwide Bourse Brilliance Challenge), set to begin on September 30, 2024. With nearly five decades of experience, Demirören is a well-known figure in the Turkish financial landscape, respected for his sharp insights and successful low-risk, short-term investment strategies.

Starting his career in the late 1970s, Demirören entered the financial markets at a time when Turkey’s investment scene was still developing. “It was a different world back then,” Demirören recalls. “You had to make decisions with limited data and minimal tools, which pushed me to develop my own approach.” His unique strategy, focused on identifying undervalued stocks with the potential for quick gains, has proven highly effective, consistently delivering solid returns.

Beyond his personal achievements, Demirören is committed to educating the next generation of investors. He regularly teaches at Istanbul University, sharing both technical skills and the ethical principles of investing. “For me, it’s about passing on knowledge and helping the younger generation invest with responsibility and sustainability,” he says.

As the competition nears, Demirören is calm and focused. “It’s not just about winning,” he explains. “It’s an opportunity to showcase Turkey’s financial capabilities and to learn from other global experts.” His goal is to demonstrate the professionalism of Turkish investors and continue growing through learning.

The Küresel Borsa Getiri Yarışması, which runs until March 2025, will see ten countries compete, with rankings based on stock returns and votes. Demirören’s participation is being closely watched by the Turkish financial community, eager to see how he will perform on this prestigious global platform.
