Top 15 on Forbes’ 2024 Billionaires List in the World

Share

The world’s billionaires have had an incredible year, with their wealth increasing despite war, political turmoil, and persistent inflation, according to stock markets around the world. There are currently 2,781 billionaires worldwide, which is 26 more than the record set in 2021 and 141 more than the previous year. With a combined wealth of $14.2 trillion, they are wealthier than ever. This is $2 trillion more than in 2023 and $1.1 trillion more than the previous record, which was also set in 2021. Just 14% of the members of the list are poorer than they were a year ago, while 2/3 of them are wealthier. A significant portion of the gains originate from the top 20, whose combined wealth has increased by $700 billion since 2023, and the United States, which currently has a record 813 billionaires with combined values of $5.7 trillion. With 473 (including Hong Kong) valued at $1.7 trillion, China continues to rank second despite low consumer spending and a real estate bubble that has caused the loss of about $300 billion in wealth. India comes in third place with 200 billionaires, which is also a record. We used March 8, 2024, stock prices and exchange rates to compute net worths. The complete list of billionaires worldwide, along with our methodology, can be found below. See our real-time billionaires rankings for the most recent net worth updates for each of the 2,781 billionaires every day.
