“All our winners have done complete justice with their titles,” says Manav Ranka

The national finale of India’s biggest male pageant – Rubaru Mr. India is around the corner. The finale of Rubaru Mr. India 2020-21 pageant is scheduled to take place in April this year (2021). Some of the most handsome and talented men have been shortlisted, after a series of preliminary selection events to compete at the national show. As the pageant is prepared to enter its 17th edition, the West Zone director of the event, Manav Ranka from Mumbai, talked about the pageant’s journey over the years and the winners that have won the title so far.

Manav mentioned, “Rubaru Mr. India pageant has transformed drastically over the years. From the format of the event to the prerequisites to join the pageant, everything has been through several alterations and modifications since the inception of the event in 2004. The only thing that has remained unchanged about the pageant is the quality of titleholders it has produced. All our winners have done complete justice with the titles that they have won. During every edition, our main focus has always been on the selection of the candidates to appear for the national finale. We are not looking for a man that is merely a good-looking face, rather we want a man who understands the significance of being a national level titleholder and the responsibilities that come with that title. This is a far more intricate concept than just being superficially attractive. Rubaru Mr. India is not a modelling competition, it is much more than that so in order to win the pageant, a man needs to be much more than a good-looking and superficially attractive individual. For the 17th edition, we have shortlisted some amazing guys from all across the nation and we are very confident that whosoever walks away with the title, we are going to get yet another fabulous winner this year.”

Manav has been managing the West Zone segment of the pageant and the pageant was staged in the Western part of India for last two consecutive years (2018 and 2019). This year’s pageant is going to be a combined event for the years 2020 and 2021. Speaking about this year’s pageant, Manav further added, “We are going to follow all the necessary measures and protocols while staging this year’s event. Out batch of 2020 pageant has been patiently waiting for the event and finally it’s going to happen in April and we are going to welcome a yet another wonderful set of winners to our Rubaru family.”
