
Filmmaker Alois Nashali has just released a book about his documentary film Through the Lens of an Immigrant.
The award-winning cinematographer has been a force to reckon with since his debut in filmmaking in 2017. “This is actually the same year that I actually made my debut in this film industry”, Saying Alois Nashali.
It is always going to be remembered in the record that its in the year 2017 that Filmmaker Alois Nashali officially made his breakthrough in the film scene and in that same year he went on to received his first recognition at the 28th One Word Film Festival for his documentary film Through the Lens of an Immigrant which was showcased at the one world film festival.
Speaking to our editor via an hour long phone interview Alois Nashali told us he decided to dedicate his new book project building on his first successful film, and to something that actually brought him to the limelight.
In The Documentary film itself which examines cultural diversity by contrasting some life challenges as an international student from East Africa. While on the other hand The book, which he actually named it Canada Through The Lens Of An Immigrant, expounds more on the struggles of migrants. Being an African immigrant himself, the young and ambitious film director writes on the challenges and the beauty that comes with transversing different cultures.
The book is a timely release as the world is coming to terms with the death of George Floyd, who was killed unarmed on May 25, 2020 in the custody of the Minneapolis Police Department, sparking global protests on racial discrimination.
Announcing the news through his instagram page live @thisisalois, Alois Nashali expressed the need for a free and fair world where everyone is treated equally.
