• Kamn Ismail was born in Pengkalan Balak, Melaka, on February 8, 1956, and spent his childhood in Kuala Lumpur.
• Methodist Boys School Sentul served as his primary and secondary educational setting. He began working as a painter after finishing school.
• Kamn Ismail worked for MacLean & Company, an English animation studio that was filming a movie in Malaysia at that time.
• He worked as a scenic artist at the studio, where the 1975 film Paper Tiger, directed by Ken Annakin, was made.
• After that, Kamn Ismail was employed by Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) as a clerk until the company’s privatization in 1992.
