NASCAR’s Nashville Race Weekend: Schedule, Race Details, Preview and How to Watch on TV

The Nashville Superspeedway in Tennessee will host all three NASCAR National Series races this weekend, marking the second race in Amazon Prime’s coverage of NASCAR Cup Series action. Here’s all you need to know about the race, which will be held this weekend in Lebanon, Tennessee.

The Nashville Superspeedway officially opened in 2001. The track is neither a true intermediate track nor a superspeedway, despite its name. Its length of 1.330 miles is somewhat less than the 1.5-mile required for those tracks and significantly less than the 2.5-mile required for a superspeedway. But this odd naming choice doesn’t take away from one of NASCAR’s most distinctive locations.

In 2001, the Truck Series was the second series to race at the track after the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The track became a staple of both series until 2011, even though it didn’t have a Cup Series date. The track did, however, retain both of the lower series as well as its inaugural Cup Series date as part of a 2021 comeback.

Nashville’s race always seems like the beginning of summer. Fans have an opportunity to see who the true title contenders are with the Coca-Cola 600 in the review mirror.

Top Storylines of the Weekend

At Nashville Superspeedway, a special portion of the schedule begins this weekend. The last four races of Prime Video’s NASCAR coverage feature several tracks that are unlike any other on the schedule. These include the three-turn Pocono, Michigan, this 1.330-mile concrete track, and NASCAR’s comeback to Mexico.

We are currently in the last stages of NASCAR’s inaugural in-season competition. This tournament will pit drivers against one another throughout the length of TNT’s five-race coverage, with the top two competing for a million dollars in the Brickyard 400. This is the final driver workout before NASCAR gathers statistics to seed drivers, which will begin next weekend at Pocono.

Joey Logano had an unexpected win at Nashville Superspeedway last season. Logano would have barely qualified for the playoffs without an automatic qualifying, hence this race could have determined the outcome of the entire season the previous year. We had no idea at the time that he would use this one victory to earn a Cup Series Championship, three more playoff victories, and a postseason birth.
