Post Malone Debuts New Song During FIFA World Cup 2026 Final Closing Ceremony

Post Malone launched the 2026 FIFA World Cup final celebrations with a performance packed with hit songs, including the live premiere of a brand-new track.

Wearing his trademark denim outfit and cowboy hat, the 31-year-old artist performed at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, before Sunday’s (July 19) championship match between Argentina and Spain.

Malone began his three-song performance with an unreleased song believed to be titled “Chrome Heartbreaker” before transitioning into his 2018 hit “Wow.”, which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Performing from the top of a giant yellow stage as fireworks lit up the stadium, Malone—dressed in a white shirt featuring the words “I Just Hope Both Teams Have Fun”—was then joined by Swae Lee for a performance of their diamond-certified single “Sunflower,” from the 2018 animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Before Malone’s appearance, streamer IShowSpeed energized fans with a performance of his appropriately titled song “Champions,” accompanied by drummers and dancers dressed in colorful tracksuits.

The World Cup entertainment was scheduled to continue with an 11-minute halftime show featuring BTS, Justin Bieber, Madonna and Shakira as the headlining performers. The all-star production was curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

Before the final, FIFA previewed Malone’s appearance in a press release, describing it as a “landmark performance” that would help build anticipation for the championship match.

“At a time when sport, culture and global attention converge, Post Malone will deliver a performance designed to celebrate the tournament’s journey and ignite the atmosphere before the world’s attention turns to the two finalists,” FIFA president Gianni Infantino said in a statement. “We are thrilled to have so many stars taking to the pitch, from both the football and entertainment worlds. The closing ceremony will set the tone for a historic FIFA World Cup final, uniting the passion of 48 teams, 16 host cities and millions of fans on one unforgettable stage.”

Jennifer Hudson was also scheduled to perform the national anthem before kickoff, while Nicole Scherzinger, Laura Pausini and Robbie Williams were set to appear during the closing ceremony.

Actor Tom Cruise was likewise announced as part of the pre-match celebrations, which began at 1:30 p.m. ET, approximately 90 minutes before kickoff.
