Shakira and Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai” Continues Global Chart Reign After FIFA World Cup 2026

Although the FIFA World Cup concluded with Spain defeating Argentina on Sunday (July 19), the excitement surrounding football continues to influence Billboard’s global music charts.

Shakira and Burna Boy’s “Dai Dai (FIFA World Cup Official Song 2026)” remains the world’s biggest song, spending a second consecutive week at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and a fourth straight week atop the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart. The track also became the first official FIFA World Cup anthem to reach No. 1 on either chart since both rankings were introduced in 2020.

Another song that emerged as an unofficial soundtrack during the tournament, Oasis’ 1990s classic “Wonderwall,” climbs into the top five on both global charts after being widely embraced by supporters of England’s men’s national team.

“Dai Dai” holds the No. 1 position on the Billboard Global 200 with 43 million streams, an increase of 4% from the previous week, along with 5,000 copies sold, down 5% worldwide during the July 10-16 tracking period, according to Luminate. On the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, the song leads with 36.7 million streams, down 1%, and 4,000 copies sold, down 3%, outside the United States.

The song’s continued success has been boosted by performances at both the opening and closing stages of the tournament. Shakira and Burna Boy performed the anthem before a reported crowd of more than 80,000 fans during the opening ceremony on June 11 at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. During Sunday’s World Cup final, Shakira, Justin Bieber, BTS and Madonna headlined the inaugural FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show, which also featured Burna Boy and other performers at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The 11-minute production included a performance of “Dai Dai.”

Looking ahead, the question remains whether “Dai Dai” can maintain its position at the top of the charts next week. Working in its favor is that the halftime show occurred during the July 17-23 tracking period, which will determine the next chart rankings. However, the final four days of that tracking week will take place after the conclusion of the FIFA World Cup.

Oasis’ “Wonderwall” surges from No. 26 to No. 4 on the Billboard Global 200 and climbs from No. 21 to No. 4 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart after increasing 64% to 35 million streams and 78% to 4,000 copies sold worldwide. Throughout England’s World Cup campaign, which concluded on July 15, supporters regularly sang the song following matches. “Wonderwall” originally reached No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1996. Before its latest resurgence, the song had previously peaked at Nos. 50 and 41 on the two global charts in 2024. On the Global Excl. U.S. ranking, it has now accumulated more than a year and a half of chart appearances dating back to 2021.

Elsewhere in the Billboard Global 200 top five, Ariana Grande’s “Hate That I Made You Love Me” remains at No. 2 after spending two weeks at No. 1 following its June debut. Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” stays at its career-best No. 3, while Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” slips from No. 4 to No. 5 after leading the chart for one week in May.

On the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, BTS’ “Swim” holds steady at No. 2 after accumulating eight weeks at No. 1 since April. Ariana Grande’s “Hate That I Made You Love Me” remains at No. 3 after opening its chart run with two consecutive weeks at No. 1 in June, while Justin Bieber’s “Beauty and a Beat,” featuring Nick Minaj, stays unchanged at No. 5 after spending two weeks atop the chart in May.
