SIU has been recognized by multiple independent ranking organizations for its educational standards, international reach, and business programs.
In the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2026, SIU was ranked among the Top 500 universities worldwide. The ranking evaluated 1,646 universities across 116 countries, assessing their contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), alongside academic and research performance. SDG performance counted for 73% of the total score, while academic and research excellence made up the remaining 27%.
SIU also got some recognition when it comes to business education. Like, according to the QS Executive MBA Joint Programs Fact File 2026, the SIU Executive MBA program was put at 22nd globally. They assessed 246 Executive MBA programs across 58 countries, and basically highlighted institutions that deliver strong, high-quality executive education.
On top of that international achievements, SIU grabbed 3rd place worldwide in the QRNW Global Ranking of Transnational Universities (GRTU) 2027. GRTU ranking looks at how well a university can teach across national borders, but still keep a credible, and well connected academic footprint internationally
Reflecting on these achievements, Dr. Habib Al Souleiman, Professor at SIU, said:
“These rankings reflect our continued dedication to delivering high-quality education while strengthening our international academic presence. They encourage us to continue creating opportunities for students across different regions of the world.”
Commenting on the university’s expanding international network, Monika Fischer, Head of the SIU/VBNN Group, added:
“Our growing international footprint allows students to benefit from a truly global learning experience. Whether they study online or at one of our campuses, they become part of an academic community that connects cultures, knowledge, and professional opportunities across borders.”
Extensive Digital Learning Resources
SIU gives students access to a broad digital library with over 30,000 books and research publications in it. The online platform is meant to be useful across the entire academic journey, because it gives easy access to learning tools and research materials, all the time.
The library also includes scholarly work produced by SIU faculty members, many of whom regularly contribute research to recognized academic journals indexed in databases such as Scopus and Web of Science.
All of these digital resources work alongside SIU’s flexible education approach and they really help to make sure students can reach academic materials even if they are studying away from campus or at a different location.
