Two outdoor National Hockey League (NHL) regular season games are scheduled to take place in 2024 as part of the 2023–24 NHL Stadium Series. For the first time since 2016, there will be two Stadium Series games planned as opposed to just one. The weekend of February 17–18, 2024, is scheduled for both games to take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. On February 17, the Philadelphia Flyers will take on the New Jersey Devils, and on February 18, the New York Rangers will take on the New York Islanders.
On June 3, 2023, the NHL made the Stadium Series announcement. At first, the league intended to host a single game featuring just the Rangers and the Devils.
Like the two games at Yankee Stadium in the 2014 NHL Stadium Series, all three of the NHL teams in the New York metropolitan area will be represented.
Before the Stadium Series, a few low-level sideline seats will be removed from MetLife Stadium as part of its renovations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which are set to begin after the 2023 NFL season ends.
This weekend, MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, will host the 2024 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series.
The New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers will play on Saturday, and the New York Rangers and New York Islanders will play on Sunday.
All the information you require about the outdoor games is provided here!
On Saturday, February 17, the Devils vs. Flyers game airs on ABC and ESPN+ at 8 p.m. ET. (The second intermission will feature a performance by the Grammy-nominated Jonas Brothers.)
This Sunday, February 18, at 3 p.m. ET on ABC and ESPN+, is the Rangers vs. Islanders game.
With Jack Hughes back after missing 11 games recently due to injury, the fourth-place Devils hope to play themselves back into wild-card contention against the third-place Flyers of the Metropolitan Division, led by Travis Konecny.
In an outdoor Battle of New York, the Rangers, who are in first place in the Metropolitan Division, led by Artemi Panarin, will take on the Islanders, who are in fifth place, led by Matthew Barzal.
Both games will be simulcast on ESPN+ and broadcast on ABC in the US. Sportsnet will replicate ABC’s feed in Canada.
