Don’t look now, for Saturday Night’s Main Event will be back in a few days with another exciting edition. The WWE special event, which resembles a Premium Live Event, will return on Saturday, May 24 at 8 p.m. ET, with plenty of explosive matches only on NBC and Peacock. Here’s a look at the official match lineup!
The May 24 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event, broadcast live from the Yeungling Center in Tampa, Florida, will be the first event after WWE Backlash 2025. This will be the third edition of SNME since its reintroduction, and the second in 2025.
WWE’s second edition of the vintage show, WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, took place on January 25, 2025, at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas. This followed the first edition’s triumph in December 2024, when the well-liked NBC show was brought back after a long break.
Top performers, including John Cena, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, and Jey Uso, will compete in several matches, the organization stated. A detailed preview, match card, schedule, and telecast details for the May 24 edition of WWE SNME are provided below.
As Jey Uso defends against the cocky and brash Logan Paul, who has been on a high ever since he defeated AJ Styles at WrestleMania — and ever since he delivered the cheapshot of all cheapshots a few weeks ago — the headliner position of Monday Night Raw is up for grabs at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Numerous opponents have targeted Jey Uso since he won the World Heavyweight belt. But no one has targeted him as much as the Maverick Logan Paul, who has already knocked out the Champion four times and has vowed to do so again on Saturday. Jey will be defending the championship for the second time since taking it home at WrestleMania 41.
If Paul’s right hand is still hurting Jey, we wouldn’t be shocked because it was one of the most vicious hits in WWE history.
Of course, no one has been more on fire than Jey Uso himself, even in light of Paul’s recent great successes (and propensity for sucker-punching his colleagues). For the first time, Jey will have to defend his recently gained title on a large scale, and SNME is seen by many longtime fans as the biggest stage.
To ensure Jey’s legendary title reign, The Yeet Man must have a run of successful title defenses under his belt. He’ll try to add a pinfall victory against one of the most athletic Superstars in the locker room on May 24, after defeating Seth Rollins via disqualification on Raw a few weeks ago. The matchup of Jey Uso versus Logan Paul is a true toss-up; who can predict who will win?
Several times recently, R-Truth has been in the wrong place at the wrong time, and in John Cena’s opinion, there is no greater sin.
Truth’s match at Saturday Night’s Main Event is high-stakes because he is facing his “childhood hero,” who has recently turned evil, even though Cena’s Undisputed WWE Championship is not on the line. The WWE Universe will undoubtedly be concerned when these two former friends clash in such a high-profile event, even though R-Truth is five years older than Cena.
This bout was set in motion after Cena’s surprise attack on Truth at the post-Backlash press conference. When R-Truth attempted to make apologies for his poor support during Cena’s title defense against Randy Orton, Cena couldn’t let the past be the past and used the press conference table to give R-Truth an attitude adjustment.
This match isn’t about the title; rather, it’s about R-Truth bravely speaking for fans around the world and trying to convince the champion of his mistakes. This contest is about R-Truth fearlessly speaking for fans worldwide, not about the title.
During Backlash 2025, R-Truth saved his “childhood hero,” John Cena, from being hit in the head by Randy Orton; the interference helped him win the match.
Nonetheless, during the post-show press conference, Cena repaid Truth by throwing him through a table. Truth has promised to beat Cena back to reality, and the two stars will now face off in a non-title contest.
On May 12, CM Punk, Bron Breakker, Sami Zayn, and Seth Rollins got into a fight to start the Monday Night Raw show. Rollins and Breakker initially gained control, but when Sami Zayn and Jey Uso showed up, the numbers game was neutralized.
Although Rollins and Punk have a long-standing hatred, Seth has suffered because of the tag team’s strong opposition following his recent beating of Sami Zayn, who turned down Rollins’ offer. He and Bron Breakker will play against Punk and Zayn in Tampa.
What could be more archaic than an all-star tag fight as the main event of a Saturday Night’s Main Event broadcast?
On the one hand, this intriguing bout is similar to a lot of vintage tag team bouts. However, it’s an exciting matchup between four of the hottest Superstars on the Monday Night Raw roster.
Each of the four guys is at a turning point in his professional life. In pursuit of the Undisputed WWE Championship, CM Punk is still moving up the ranks. After almost being forced into retirement by Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn is trying to get back on track. After defeating Punk and Roman Reigns in the Triple Threat match, Seth Rollins emerged as the unexpected winner of WrestleMania Night One, gaining the greatest momentum of his career.
A few weeks ago, the four men got into a fight, but something tells us that SNME will be exciting.
After all, SNME has been all about it for decades, so sometimes there’s nothing better than watching four men at the peak of their game facing off in classic tag team action.
One of the most anticipated fights at the May 24 edition of SNME is the Steel Cage matchup between Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest. The two stars only know how to harm one another and have no regard for their physical health. Following their street brawl in Sin City, McIntyre and Priest will reunite at WrestleMania 41 in an attempt to resolve their differences once and for all.
This is what it has come to. The rivalry between Drew McIntyre and his opponent has become so acrimonious that it appears a Steel Cage Match is required to put an end to it, much like many of his past rivalries. Last year, Damian Priest experienced it, and now it’s happening with CM Punk.
The hatred between these two superstars is evident to all members of the WWE Universe. They despise one another so much that during the historic Fatal 4-Way Match at Backlash, they were more concerned with harming one another than with taking home the US Championship.
After all is said and done, it’s safe to assume that neither Superstar will be physically the same, and we’re anticipating nothing less than one of the most intense matches of the year.
On Saturday, May 24, at 8 p.m. ET, you can watch Saturday Night’s Main Event on NBC and Peacock. Catch up on everything WWE Universe on Peacock in the interim.
