The soundtrack to Frozen 2 comes back to the top 10 on the Billboard 200 chart for the first time in two months on account of the film’s early appearance to digital retail and rental services, as well as the Disney+ streaming platform on March 14.
The previous No. 1 album bounces back with a jump from No. 18 to No. 10 on the list, winning 31,000 proportional album units in the U.S. in the week finishing March 19, as indicated by Nielsen Music/MRC Data. The set was toward the end in the top 10 on the Jan. 25-dated list, when it ranked at No. 8.
The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most well-known albums of the week in the U.S. because of multi-metric consumption as estimated in identical album units. Units involve album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). The new March 28-dated chart, where Frozen 2 jumps from No. 18 to No. 10 (and Lil Uzi Vert’s Eternal Atake holds at No. 1), will be posted in full on Billboard’s website on Tuesday.
In a March 13 statement, Disney reported Frozen 2’s quickened digital release — a quarter of a year sooner than planned — “for families during these challenging times.” The film’s digital appearance was likely heartily grasped by families and children in self-quarantine owed to the coronavirus pandemic.
