Manchester United made sure about their first success of the Premier League season in sensational fashion as they beat Brighton 3-2 at the Amex in Saturday’s initial kick-off.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer rolled out three improvements from the team that lost to Crystal Palace seven days back, with Aaron Wan Bissaka, Nemanja Matic, and Mason Greenwood coming into the side, and Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Scott McTominay, and Daniel James dropping out.
United battled in the first half and fell behind when Neal Maupay beat David de Gea from the penalty spot after Bruno Fernandes had fouled Tariq Lamptey.
Brighton’s performance would’ve been well deserving of a half-time lead yet they didn’t have that as Harry Maguire balanced against a run of play.
Marcus Rashford seemed to have scored the decisive goal when he got a fine performance strike however Solly March scored in injury time to apparently procure Brighton a point. Notwithstanding, the game finished in dramatic fashion late on as a Maupay handball gave Bruno Fernandes the chance to net the champ from the spot, and the Portuguese appropriately obliged.
