Nintendo has recently announced the Switch Online game Tetris 99 will host its 30th Maximus Cup. It starts off this Friday, 5th August, and will allow players a “second chance” at unlocking themes they might have passed up previously.
The 30th Tetris 99 Maximus Cup has been uncovered, and it’s somewhat not the same as what we typically get. Beginning at 3 AM ET on August 5th, players will actually want to procure an old theme from a past Maximus Cup every day. The theme will change every 24 hours at 2:59 AM ET on August 11th, when the event will end.
Whenever players have collected 10 points in a day, they’ll be rewarded with that day’s theme. In the event that you seriously love titles like Miitopia or Metroid Dread and you missed your opportunity to claim their Tetris themes, make certain to jump on the game during the proper time.
Rather than acquiring 100 event points for each theme, this time around you’ll just need to procure 10 event points per round – meaning you can rapidly snap up the various themes in a steady progression.
As may be obvious, the returning themes incorporate Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, Miitopia, Mario Golf: Super Rush, Skyward Sword HD, WarioWare: Get It Together!, and Metroid Dread.
This cup will run from 5th August through to 10th August and will occur in six “back-to-back” rounds. Here is the full schedule:
