How to Plan for the Perfect Birthday Party for Your Growing Boy

Published

Your boy is growing up, and it will be his birthday in a couple of weeks. How will you plan for the party? Who will you invite? What party supplies should you purchase?

Planning for a birthday party is a challenging task. How well you prepare for your boy’s birthday party may make a difference in your child’s great day. Here are some factors you need to consider while throwing a birthday party.

Guests. You may have gotten away with inviting your close friends and their husbands and children for your child’s birthday parties before. However, as children reach certain ages, they develop their own social circles, and the guests that you have invited to previous birthdays may not be the ones your child wants to be with now.

When it comes to the guests, let your child decide who he wants to invite. If he wants to have just a small number of guests, then let him have his wishes. By now, your child already knows who his friends are and whom he will feel comfortable to talk with.

Food. The food you are going to prepare will depend on several factors, such as the theme of the party, the number of guests, party activities, food restrictions of your guests, and your budget. Make sure that your food will match the theme, such as western-style food for cowboy-themed parties.

You should also plan on the tableware that you are going to set up. Do not take out your valuable China for a children’s party. You can purchase non-breakable but washable party tableware from online party suppliesstores. You can also opt for disposable one-time-use tableware for easier cleanup.

Decorations. If your child is old enough to be in charge of his guest list, then he should also be able to plan the decorations for his party. If he wants to have a hero-themed party, then you should look for an online party supplies store that sells superhero decorations. Also, if you are planning for a costume party, then it’s best if you also inform the parents of the guests where they can rent out costumes for their children. It is disheartening to see a child that goes to a costume party without a suit; he/she might feel left out.

Party decorations that are always a hit in children’s parties are helium-filled balloons. Helium balloons are fun to have around since the children of the right age can make their voices sound funny by inhaling the helium in the balloons. You can hire a helium tank from online party supplies stores. However, when you have helium balloons, you must have constant parental supervision because these balloons are flammable.

Activities. Plan ahead for the events that your child and his guests will take part in the party. Make the activities match the theme. For example, if you have a cowboy-themed party, then come up with party ideas that will bring out the inner cowboy of your child and his guests.

Remember, your child’s birthday will happen only once a year. In the eyes of your child, having a well-planned party means that you have given it a lot of thought, and this will make your child feel special.
