Windows 10 Resumes Apps Automatically When You Sign In; How To Set It Up
In some cases you’re in the middle of a productive session in Windows 10, however, you need to log out or restart your machine. Ordinarily, you may have to begin your session once more. Yet, with a fast change in Settings, Windows can recognize and re-open your non-legacy apps automatically when you sign back in. Here is how to set it up.
- To begin with, open Windows Settings. To do as such, click the Start menu and select the little gear icon, or press Windows+i on your keyboard.
- In “Settings,” click “Accounts.”
- In “Accounts,” click “Sign-in options” in the sidebar.
- In Sign-in alternatives, scroll down the page until you see the “Restart apps” option. Flip the switch just underneath it until it’s set to “On.”
- From that point forward, close Settings.
The following time you log out and log back in, what Microsoft calls your “restartable apps” will be reloaded automatically. It’s up to application developers to make their applications restartable, so this may not work with all applications.
Be that as it may, it incorporates modern Windows 10 apps composed for the UWP platform—which incorporates all applications gave on the Microsoft Store—as well as modern browsers.
Legacy apps (that use the Win32 API) composed for Windows versions preceding Windows 8 may not be restarted automatically.
