While we realized a sequel was in progress, this is the first time EA and Lucasfilm have affirmed the reputed name, which leaked earlier this year.

In the short teaser declaring the game’s 2023 release window and title, we see Cal speaking to what seems, by all accounts, to be a Pau’an man who likewise seems, by all accounts, to be holding Kestis’ lightsaber from the past game for a situation. The game will launch worldwide in 2023 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the follow-up to Respawn’s 2019 third-person action-adventure Star Wars game, Fallen Order. Like that game, this new sequel stars Cal Kestis, a former Jedi who is on the run from the Empire close by a ragtag group of misfits and outsiders. Y’know, classic Star Wars stuff.

Yet again the recently declared sequel is being led by former God of War director Stig Asmussen and a press release sent over by EA affirmed the game will be a PS5/Xbox Series X/S just release. Apologies, PS4 and Xbox One owners.

“Even before completing Jedi: Fallen Order, our team had a vision of how to carry the adventure for Cal, BD, and the crew into the sequel,” Stig Asmussen, game director, Respawn said in a statement. “For Jedi: Survivor, we are working in lockstep with Lucasfilm Games to build on the legacy of Jedi: Fallen Order. We’re leveraging advanced technology to create more dynamic Jedi combat and cinematic storytelling to expand on Cal’s story as he matures and survives during the dark times.”

The latest chapter in the Cal Kestis series gets five years after the events of Fallen Order. Cal, alongside his trusty companion BD-1, should remain one step in front of the Empire’s steady interest as he feels the weight of being one of the final Jedi in the galaxy. Cal should master new abilities and develop his connection with the Force.

Joined by his trusty sidekick BD-1, protagonist Cal Kestis, one of the final Jedi in the galaxy, should get new abilities and develop his association with the Force to remain one step in front of the Empire’s steady interest.

Fallen Order game director Stig Asmussen, who was God of War 3 creative director at Sony Santa Monica before joining Respawn, is again leading the improvement of the sequel.

Respawn is likewise dealing with a new Star Wars first-person shooter helmed by former LucasArts veteran and Medal of Honor co-maker Peter Hirschmann. He recently worked on the original Star Wars Battlefront games and The Force Unleashed, and all the more as of late directed the 2020 VR title Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond.

Respawn’s third Star Wars project is a methodology game created through a production collaboration with Bit Reactor, which is a new studio formed by veterans of XCOM and Civilization studio Firaxis Games.

Respawn’s next Star Wars activity RPG will be released on next-gen platforms PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. EA doesn’t talk about past-gen consoles, yet with developers moving towards new-gen systems there’s a decent opportunity Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is as well.
