Sea Eagles utility Dylan Walker signs three-year contract with New Zealand Warriors will join the club for 2023 NRL season

Sea Eagles utility and Off-contract Manly star Dylan Walker has signed a three-year contract with the New Zealand Warriors from 2023 onwards for 2023, 2024, and 2025 NRL seasons, joining Luke Metcalf and Marata Niukore in the Warriors 2023 recruitment drive.

Having signed a year extension with the Sea Eagles in November, Walker will presently head across the Tasman after the 2022 season, focusing on the Warriors until the finish of 2025. Manly utility Dylan Walker has said thanks to the Sea Eagles for “standing by me” after agreeing to a three-year contract to join the New Zealand Warriors from next season – the second agreement he has signed in a matter of months.

“He has proven himself among the competition’s best and most consistent players over the last two seasons, a player very much on top of his game,” said Warriors football boss Craig Hodges.

“He’s a high-quality centre who can also play in the halves, at fullback and fill a role in the middle if required. Dylan’s going to bring so much to our side from next season.”

CEO Cameron George said he’s invigorated by the expansion of the former State of Origin and Test centre to the squad.

“Signing Dylan is a terrific boost for us as we build and improve our roster for next season and beyond,” he said.

“Along with our other major signings for 2023 and on, he will lend experience as well as add hugely to our depth.”

Walker, who won a premiership with South Sydney in 2014, was used generally off the bench by Manly last season and recently conceded that he was searching for a long-term agreement in the wake of signing a line of one-year agreements.

Walker’s contract makes him the club’s third major signing for 2023, joining Cronulla half Luke Metcalf and Parramatta second-rower Marata Niukore.

Albeit harmed in a preliminary game misfortune to Canberra, Walker is expected to line up for Manly on March 10 when the Sea Eagles attempt to end their eight straight losing starts to a season.

The Warriors kick off their 2022 campaign against St George Illawarra on Saturday, March 13.
