World Tag League Final on December 10 Preview and Full Card

The World Tag League finals will take place on December 10. The world’s best duos will square off on Sunday afternoon at Wrestle Kingdom 18 to decide who will win the 2023 World Team Championship and whether the IWGP Tag Team Championships will continue after 16 teams are reduced to two.

Main event: World Tag League Final- Bishamon (Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) vs Guerrillas of Destiny (Hikuleo & El Phantasmo)

Tag record: 1-0 GoD

For the first time ever, two sets of tag team champions make up our final in the World Tag League, which is meant to crown the best tag team over a three-week period. As Bishamon attempts to further create history by becoming the first IWGP tag team Champions to win the winter tag classic, Hirooki Goto, who has already won the competition four times, looks to win his fifth trophy overall and an unprecedented third in a row with YOSHI-HASHI.

But achieving victory won’t be simple. The NJPW STRONG Openweight Tag Team Champions, Hikuleo, and El Phantasmo began their careers with a victory over Bishamon at Korakuen Hall, a location that has always been extremely advantageous to YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto. They now have the opportunity to break Bishamon’s winning streak and get closer to winning double-tag gold in the Tokyo Dome. However, if Goto and YOSHI-HASHI prevail, what could be in store for the tag gold match at Wrestle Kingdom?

7th Match: Just Five Guys (SANADA, Taichi, Yuya Uemura, DOUKI & TAKA Michinoku) vs Los Ingobernables De Japon (Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi, Yota Tsuji, Zandokan Jr.& BUSHI)

Less than a month from his main event matchup with SANADA for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 18, Tetsuya Naito returns to the ring following eye surgery. Tonight marks a significant milestone on the path to Wrestle Kingdom for both men, who have just four weeks left before their date with Destiny. In addition, NEVER Openweight Champion Shingo Takagi is competing at the Tokyo Dome, and with Tama Tonga out of the picture, he hopes to put on a show before WK18. Meanwhile, Uemura’s victory on Friday night in Kagoshima did little to ease the pain of his recent return, as he was still raw from his devastating defeat to Tsuji at Power Struggle. Will this be a significant step toward his goal of winning the Gene Blast before the year ends, as he is adamant about doing so?

6th Match: Hiroshi Tanahashi & Kazuchika Okada vs gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona)

The Dream Team of Tanahashi and Okada presents a tremendous opportunity for the Gates of Agony as they wrap up their inaugural tour of Japan. For the first time since April 15 and Capital Collision in Washington, DC, the Ace and the Rainmaker will team up. Tanahashi was hurt in a four-way challenge to the STRONG Openweight Tag Team Championships that night, so it was a somber memory. However, in the weeks that followed, he and Okada won the NEVER Openweight 6-Man titles with Tomohiro Ishii in tow, setting up a scene where two-thirds of two trios champions would face off here tonight. Tanahashi has acknowledged that he is envious of Bishop Kaun’s abs, but GoA is jealous of the influence the Dream Team has and plans to have a significant impact of their own.

5th Match: Tomoaki Honma, Ryohei Oiwa & Kaito Kiyomiya vs HOUSE OF TORTURE (EVIL, Yujiro Takahashi & Yoshinobu Kanemaru)

After being defeated and degraded by Ryohei Oiwa and Kaito Kiyomiya in the early World Tag League matches, EVIL is back against NOAH’s “Galaxy View” tonight. HOT defeated Oiwa on Friday in Kagoshima, but Kiyomiya drove them out before they could finish the job. In their trios match this afternoon, can Kiyomiya and Oiwa make a comeback?

4th Match: Tiger Mask & Shota Umino vs HOUSE OF TORTURE (Ren Narita & SHO)

Shota Umino left for Kagoshima on Friday, prepared to confront Ren Narita and hold him accountable for joining HOUSE OF TORTURE so early in the week. However, Narita would enter the fight undetected, hit Umino’s partner from behind, and win in less than a minute. Narita would only make physical contact with Umino when his new H.O.T allies joined the beating. Will the Roughneck be able to recover today, after spending the last three nights under Narita’s depraved boot?

3rd Match: Oskar Leube, Yuto Nakashima, Toru Yano & Tomohiro Ishii vs United Empire (Callum Newman, HENARE, Great-O-Khan & Jeff Cobb)

Unit of Imperial In an eight-man matchup with Callum Newman, HENARE, and Great-O-Khan, Jeff Cobb makes a comeback. Given that HENARE is paying homage to Gates of Agony’s ROH Six Man titles, the United EMpire team appears to be the clear favorite in this match. Could Cobb be the missing element in that puzzle?

2nd Match: Alex Zayne, Lance Archer, Minoru Suzuki & Yuji Nagata vs BULLET CLUB (Gabe Kidd, Alex Coughlin, Jack Bonza & Bad Luck Fale)

Yuji Nagata and Minoru Suzuki finally clicked against Bad Luck Fale and Jack Bonza in their final league match; it took the entire World Tag League to accomplish this. Tonight they unite with the other team in the league they were able to score against, Alex Zayne and Lance Archer, also known as Monstersauce. Meanwhile, a furious Gabe Kidd and Alex Coughlin, still stung by their semifinal exit on Friday, will cause mayhem in Kumamoto.

1st Match: TMDK (Kosei Fujita, Shane Haste & Mikey Nicholls) vs Master Wato, Soberano Jr. & Atlantis Jr.

TMDK similarly ruins a World Tag League 2023 semifinal exit as they arrive in Kagoshima. TMDk hopes to send Soberano Jr. and Atlantis Jr. packing with a victory in their final match in Japan before making a comeback at Fantasticamania and putting themselves back in the running for the title in the coming year.

Frontier Zone: Boltin Oleg & Ryusuke Taguchi vs Asosan & Kodai Nozaki

NJPW fans can look forward to more new wrestling from The Frontier Zone, including two heavyweight figures from Kyushu Pro. Asosan, named Mount Aso, the highest active volcano in Japan, and hard-hitting Kodai Nozaki represent the independent promotion here in Kumamoto. Will this team blow up because of Taguchi and Boltin?
