Potters Resorts will Host the Imagine Cruising World Indoor Bowls Championships 2024 – Preview And Draws

The Imagine Cruising World Indoor Championships, which take place at Potters Resort in Hopton-on-Sea, near Great Yarmouth, from Friday, January 5, to Sunday, January 21, 2024, will bring the bowling world together for the 26th year.

In 2024, Potters Resorts will host the Imagine Cruising World Indoor Bowls Championships to celebrate 25 years of hosting the world’s top bowlers at its International Arena, securing its place in the annals of this well-liked sport.

There’s still time to participate in the 26th edition of the event, which will feature over two weeks of live, elite action returning to Hopton-on-Sea on January 5.

World Champions in the World Singles, World Open Pairs, World Ladies Matchplay, World Mixed Pairs, and World Under 25 titles will be crowned at the feast of bowls.

Jamie Walker won the singles championship last year in an incredible tournament that saw both finalists advance from the UK qualifying events.

Greg Harlow and Nick Brett won their third World Open Pairs championship, triumphing over Guernsey’s Jason Greenslade and Scotland’s Michael Stepney in the championship match.

After winning her fifth title in the Ladies World Matchplay final against previous champion Ceri-Anne Glen, Katherine Rednall proceeded to dominate the competition.

Ceri-Ann, who was returning to Potters after a fifteen-year absence, was pleased with herself and Stewart Anderson’s World Mixed Pairs victory.

When he defeated Darren Weir in the championship match, which was a rematch of the previous year’s match, Daniel Pool of Annan became the first player in history to defend the World Under 25 title.

Potters are once again expected to see record crowds during the championships, and the World Bowls Tour is thrilled to have Imagine Cruising return for its second year as the event’s main sponsor.

Every match will be available for free live streaming on the World Bowls Tour’s YouTube channel and Facebook page. Important: Especially during the World Indoor Championships, please be aware of fraudulent activity on social media. You can watch for free, and you shouldn’t pay for it or give your personal information to anyone who is promoting links to live streams. Please only access the official sources to watch the live coverage.

The Potters World Indoor Bowls Championships continue to be the pinnacle of the bowls calendar, drawing players from all over the world, including home nations Hong Kong, USA, South Africa, Canada, Israel, New Zealand, and Australia.

The Open Pairs Championship, Mixed Pairs Championship, Under 25s, Ladies Matchplay, and Open Singles are the five categories with prizes up for grabs. The winners will receive their renowned Langham Glass blue trophies.

John Potter, proprietor of Potters Resorts, said: “We so enjoy welcoming the World Bowls Tour and its players for this special few weeks every January. The event itself is unique with many of the players and officials staying with us on the resort too, so guests and visitors are always bumping into their bowling heroes.

“There’s always a great atmosphere here at Hopton-on-Sea and the 2024 Championships will no doubt offer more excitement and memorable moments on the famous blue rink.”

Not to mention the BBC, which offers seven days of live coverage, including all finals during the previous week, Imagine Cruising returns as the primary sponsor.

However, being present in person is the best way to take action, just like at any sporting event. With day tickets starting at just £15, you can be in the center of the action during the 2024 Championships, which are expected to be another amazing event. You can also choose to add a two-course lunch or dinner at the time of booking.

Alternatively, you could choose to fully immerse yourself in the atmosphere by booking an all-inclusive short break that includes entry to every game played at the International Arena, cozy lodging, full board meals, refreshments, lively activities, an enormous array of sports and leisure facilities, and breathtaking live evening entertainment.

Now is the perfect time to start planning your trip to Potters Resorts Hopton-on-Sea from January 5–21, 2024, with two-night breaks starting at £309 per person. Several breaks have already sold out.

Red Button and BBC 2 will carry the coverage from Monday, January 15 through Sunday, January 21.
