Annetta Powell: from humble beginnings to establishing Detroit’s leading Real estate Investment company
Real estate has always been the prime sector for success. If you are business-savvy and motivated enough, then you can make a real killing in the business of the real estate. Annetta Powell is a real estate mogul who is the President who does an annual seminar known as, The Wealth Connect Live, which is designed to help newcomers get a clear idea about entrepreneurship. Her journey from her humble beginnings to establishing Detroit’s leading Investment company is an inspiring story.
Annetta purchased her first real estate property way back in 2001 when she was still trying to understand the real estate industry. Her first property purchase was for $18,000, and once she renovated the property, it made her a profit of $24,000. In her long and exciting career as a real estate investor, Annetta has purchased more than 600 properties and successfully sold them after the homes were renovated. “Growing up in Detroit with 6 siblings and deaf parents was never going to be an easy task. When I was in my twenties, I knew that my monthly paycheck would never cover the costs for me to live the life I desired, so, I took a gamble,” said Annetta. Fortunately, the gamble paid off.
Annetta also has a luxury party bus company and is the founder of The Wealth Connect, a company that teaches up and coming entrepreneurs the ropes of the real estate business. “There are three techniques to break into real estate. One is becoming a wholesaler, the second is flipping a property, and finally, becoming a landlord. It’s what I teach my students: to become one of the three. Each of them carries its own risk, but then any business has its risks,” said Annetta. The most valuable lesson that Annetta talks about is the benefit of having multiple streams of income. “One source of wealth can be tragic, as we learned from the economic crisis of 2008. So diversify and look for more avenues,” she added.
Annetta has established herself as a leading real estate investor and expert. While she continues to grow, diversify, and scale her real estate empire further, she is deeply passionate about sharing her knowledge and expertise with those around her. Annetta has mentored, advised, and consulted numerous people within the United States.
