Target Plans to Introduce a New Paid Membership Program Target Circle Week, April 7–13

Your local Target run could benefit from even greater savings and benefits as of this month.

Under its Target Circle loyalty program, the well-known deal retailer will now provide customers with three new membership options: a free membership, a retail card option, and a new paid membership that offers same-day delivery and additional benefits.

The redesigned loyalty program will debut in Target Circle Week, April 7–13. Rewards members will be able to take advantage of deals on Target gift cards for 10% off on April 13 in addition to up to 40% off select spring items.

According to a company spokesperson who spoke with Yahoo Finance, the retailer’s recently introduced products are a part of its larger effort to provide its patrons with a more economical and efficient shopping experience.

“We’ve prioritized building strong relationships with guests since Target’s inception, and our reimagining of Target Circle continues that commitment,” Cara Sylvester, executive vice president and chief guest experience officer at Target, said.

It also puts Target (TGT) in a competitive position to take on Walmart+ and Amazon Prime in the home delivery sector.

New Target Circle 360 subscription service

Target 360 is a new paid loyalty program that will launch on April 7. An annual subscription costs $99, but there is a special offer of $49 through May 18.

Free same-day delivery is offered with a subscription; it is said to arrive “in as little as an hour” and is fee-free. Also, members will receive free two-day shipping through Shipt, a delivery service offered by Target. Target Circle 360 members will also get quick shipping options from Shipt’s inventory of more than 100 retail partners, which includes Sephora, Ulta Beauty, and Petco.

Additionally, “no-rush returns,” which give members of the new Target Circle 360 an additional 30 days to return their purchases, will be available to them. Extended return benefits will also be available to Target Circle Card members.

Amazon (AMZN) announced Amazon Prime in 2005, almost two decades after Target launched its new paid membership service. The well-liked membership service is well-known for offering limitless free same-day or two-day shipping throughout the United States.

These days, Amazon offers discounts from Amazon Fresh, where members from specific cities can shop for daily essentials or groceries, as part of the Prime membership benefits. Additionally, customers can receive exclusive discounts at their local Whole Foods by using their Prime membership at the checkout.

When Amazon offers extra savings on major appliances, everyday goods, and Amazon products like the Kindle or Echo, Prime members eagerly expect Amazon Day.

Monthly membership fees for Amazon Prime are $14.99, or $139 annually.

Walmart (WMT) recently debuted Walmart+, a membership and subscription service that costs $12.95 per month or $98 annually.

Walmart+ offers free delivery from your store and unlimited free shipping, just like its rivals. It also comes with early access to promotions and events, fuel savings, and video streaming with Paramount+.

What else has been added to the Target Circle umbrella?

Target Circle’s free membership

Target Circle is a free loyalty program offered by the store that entitles you to 1% cash back on purchases made at Target and up to 5% if you own a Target credit card. As part of the update, customers will receive more personalized offers and discounts on in-store and online items that aren’t available to non-members, even though the membership will essentially stay the same.

On their birthday, Target Circle members also receive 5% off a single purchase.

Its principal benefit? You don’t need to look for discounts or deals on your own because members automatically receive discounts at checkout.

Target Circle Card, formerly known as Target RedCard

Target Circle members with a Target Circle Card (formerly known as a Target RedCard) can receive up to 5% off select purchases as part of a broad upgrade, on top of current in-store discounts.

There are, however, a few exclusions. Target claims that members will not be eligible to receive an extra 5% off of paid gift cards, CVS pharmacy products, or prescriptions.

A discounted price on a Target Circle 360 membership, free 2-day shipping when making online purchases, and an additional 30 days for returns are all available to customers with the Target Circle Card.
