What to Expect: Apple Intelligence Features Coming in 2025

Apple Intelligence features, such as Image Playground, Genmoji, and Writing Tools, have been included in iOS 18.1 and 18.2. However, more capabilities are still being developed. Apple plans to release another big Apple Intelligence update in 2025. The expected functionality is listed below.
Priority Notifications
Notification summaries are already available on devices that support Apple Intelligence. However, in a future release of iOS 18, Apple Intelligence will have Priority Notifications to see what’s vital first while filtering out things that don’t matter as much.
When Priority Notifications are enabled, incoming notifications categorized as priority will appear at the top of the notification stack.
New Siri Features
Siri has been updated with a new design and improved natural language processing on Apple Intelligence devices. However, additional Siri updates are pending.
Siri will soon be supported for deeper app integration, onscreen awareness, and personal context. Siri can assist you in finding everything you’re looking for by using personal context, which enables Siri to keep track of anything on your device, including files, images, emails, and text messages.
Siri now has onscreen awareness, allowing her to do tasks based on your device’s screen content. To send a photo to someone, simply say “Hey Siri, send this” followed by their name. Siri will grasp what “this” means.
Siri’s ability to perform tasks within and between apps will significantly improve. You can edit and send photos with a single command, or use Siri to move files across apps. According to Apple, it will function similarly to Shortcuts, but with Siri activation and no setup required.
Apple intends to keep Siri’s tracking capabilities on-device to protect users’ privacy.
Genmoji on macOS
Apple introduced Genmoji for iPhone and iPad in iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2, but not for MacOS Sequoia 15.2. Apple is beta testing the macOS Sequoia 15.3 upgrade, which is scheduled in January 2025, and includes Genmoji.
Memory Movies for macOS
Macs are also lacking the memory movies feature, which allows you to build a slideshow from your photographs and videos using only a text description. Apple plans to introduce the ability to create memory movies on the Mac, but it is currently only available for the iPhone and iPad.
To make a personalized memory movie, head to the Memories section of the Photos app, press make, and then type in the movie’s description. The Photos app selects relevant photographs and videos to create a slideshow accompanied by music. You can modify the provided photos, change the music, and post the results on social media.
Apple Intelligence in More Countries and Languages
Apple plans to introduce support for languages other than English in 2025, including Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
When Will We Get New Apple Intelligence Features?
We don’t anticipate additional features until iOS 18.4, as the current iOS 18.3, iPadOS 18.3, and macOS Sequoia 15.3 upgrades don’t include any new Apple Intelligence features beyond Genmoji for the Mac. Apple is currently beta-testing these updates.
iOS 18.3 will likely be released in late January, followed by the iOS 18.4 beta. iOS 18.4 and its sister updates will be beta-tested for several months before being released in April 2024.
