CONCACAF Gold Cup 2023 – Full Schedule, Groups, Teams, and More

The 17th CONCACAF Gold Cup, CONCACAF’s biennial international men’s football championship for the North, Central American, and Caribbean region, will take place in 2023. The tournament, which is scheduled to take place from June 24 to July 16, 2023, will be hosted by Canada and the United States.

The 2021 edition was won by the United States, making them the defending champions.

The Gold Cup 2023: What is it?

For national teams from North and Central America as well as the Caribbean, which includes the United States, Mexico, and Canada, the Gold Cup is the top men’s competition. The 16-team competition will begin on June 24 and conclude with the final on July 16 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Thirteen teams were announced earlier in the spring, including Qatar, an invited team. Three more teams, Guadeloupe, Martinique, and Saint Kitts & Nevis, qualified for the tournament on June 20 in a preliminary round held at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Which teams are competing in the Gold Cup 2023?

There were four groups of four teams in each of the 16 slots. The top two teams in each group will play each other and advance. A knockout format with quarterfinals, semifinals, and a final follows the competition.

  • Group A: Jamaica, Saint Kitts & Nevis, Trinidad & Tobago, United States
  • Group B: Honduras, Haiti, Mexico, Qatar
  • Group C: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Martinque, Panama
  • Group D: Canada, Cuba, Guadeloupe, Guatemala

On June 12, the US Men’s National Team released its roster, which features a lot of MLS players.

Which stadiums will host Gold Cup matches?

On April 10, 2023, CONCACAF declared the 15 host venues for the 2023 Gold Cup. They include both larger American football stadiums and soccer-specific stadiums primarily occupied by Major League Soccer teams. BMO Field in Toronto is the sole venue beyond the US; Since the 2015 tournament, this is the first Canadian stadium to host the Gold Cup.

The matches will be held in 14 stadiums spread across 13 cities in the United States, including one in Toronto.

At SoFi Stadium on July 16, the final is scheduled.

On July 12, the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego and the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas will host the two semifinal matches. Both Cincinnati’s TQL Stadium and Arlington’s AT&T Stadium will host the four quarterfinal matches.
