Panthers announce eight candidates for G.M. and nine for head coaching

The Panthers revealed the eight general manager prospects they are considering as well as the nine coaching candidates they have asked to interview.

In an attempt to find a replacement, the team fired G.M. Scott Fitterer on Monday, following the dismissal of head coach Frank Reich on November 27.

The nine contenders for the head coaching position are: Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik, Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan, Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, Dolphins offensive coordinator Frank Smith, Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken and Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dave Canales.

Quinn led the Falcons to the Super Bowl in 2016, and both Quinn and Morris have head coaching experience.

The eight candidates for general manager are: Nick Matteo of the Ravens, Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds, Chiefs vice president of football operations Brandt Tilis, Eagles assistant general manager Alec Halaby, Saints assistant general manager Khai Harley, Giants assistant general manager Brandon Brown, Buccaneers assistant general manager Mike Greenberg, and Raiders interim general manager Champ Kelly.
