- Kamn Ismail was born in Pengkalan Balak, Melaka, on February 8, 1956, and spent his childhood in Kuala Lumpur.
- Methodist Boys School Sentul served as his primary and secondary educational setting. He began working as a painter after finishing school.
- Kamn Ismail worked for MacLean & Company, an English animation studio that was filming a movie in Malaysia at that time.
- He worked as a scenic artist at the studio, where the 1975 film Paper Tiger, directed by Ken Annakin, was made.
- After that, Kamn Ismail was employed by Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM) as a clerk until the company’s privatization in 1992.
- Kamn Ismail began his career in animation with Dato’ Mohd Othman Yusof and Micheal Lum producing Usop Sontorian, the country’s first animated series, for which he was the director.
- UAS Communications released the superhero animation series, Keluang Man.
- After that, Kamn Ismail set up Quest Animation (m) Sdn, his own animation studio. Bhd, where Kamn Ismail serves as the company’s managing director.
- Rumah Kartun dan Komik Malaysia and Animas presented him with the title of Malaysian Animation Character on April 1, 2018, at the National Museum’s cartoonist award night and cartoonist day.
- On December 8, 2019, Kamn Ismail died at the University of Malaya Medical Center in Kuala Lumpur.
- Kamn Ismail is well-known for his work as the director of Kharisma Pictures’ animated series Usop Sontorian (1993–1997) and Keluang Man (1997–2001), which featured animated characters and stories.
