Kuwait will get help from Google Cloud for its digital transformation

To implement a digital transformation roadmap across Kuwait’s governmental entities and key state-owned businesses, Google Cloud has joined forces with the Kuwaiti government. Google Cloud has formed a partnership with the Kuwaiti government as part of its expansion in the Middle East, demonstrating its dedication to digitalization.

Google Cloud will implement a comprehensive digital transformation roadmap for Kuwait’s key state-owned businesses and government agencies as part of the strategic alliance.

Together with the Kuwaiti government, Google Cloud will work to digitize citizen services and boost employee productivity. Additionally, the two entities will carry out a number of digital transformation initiatives in the areas of smart living, education, disaster recovery, and healthcare.

The alliance will enable the Kuwaiti government to make digitization a top national priority in the coming years by utilizing Google Cloud’s expertise in data analytics, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.

In addition, the two will work together to carry out a number of initiatives related to digital transformation in the fields of education, disaster recovery, healthcare, and smart living.

In order to open a cloud region and establish a local office in the country, Google Cloud will work with the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA), the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), and the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA).

Digital technologies and Google Cloud’s data analytics, machine learning (ML), AI, and security solutions will be enhanced through the program for government employees.

Google Cloud adds that the agreement is a significant turning point in the company’s expansion into the Middle East and demonstrates a renewed commitment to future investments.

Commitment to digital innovation

The government of Kuwait will be able to fulfill its promise to make digitisation one of its top national priorities in the coming years by making use of the alliance’s innovative technology and expertise in data analytics, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence (AI).

Google Cloud intends to establish a local office in Kuwait in conjunction with the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA), the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), and the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA).

A national skilling program will be launched by Google Cloud and the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT). Digital technologies and Google Cloud’s cutting-edge data analytics, machine learning (ML), AI, and security solutions will be taught to government employees through the program.

A new cloud region

In addition, Google Cloud stated that it would make an investment in the establishment of a cloud region in Kuwait to meet the extensive demand for cloud technologies.

Kuwait’s goal of becoming a data-driven economy will be aided by the new cloud region’s support of public sector organizations, businesses, and startups on their digital transformation journeys.

The Government of Kuwait and other Google Cloud customers will be able to securely store important data and manage their digital workloads with support from the new cloud region.

Thomas Kurian, Chief Executive Officer of Google Cloud, stated, “The strategic alliance supports the Government of Kuwait’s Vision 2035, which aims to transform Kuwait into a digital society and diversify its economy.”

“We are proud to bring the latest Google Cloud technologies to Kuwait to help the country realise its digitisation ambitions. The arrival of Google Cloud will contribute to developing a rich tech ecosystem in the country, creating exciting, highly-skilled job opportunities for Kuwaitis.”
