Today’s animated Google Doodle celebrates cherry blossom season, the moment when cherry trees sprout in Spring.
Spring is here, bringing the beauty of cherry blossoms! This Doodle celebrates the short-lived magnificence of these delicate pink blossoms, known as sakura in Japanese. Cherry blooms are the national flower of Japan, so March and April are continuously an extraordinary time for hanami (花見), the tradition of blossom viewing.
