Women’s NCAA Tournament 2025 Sweet 16: Full Schedule, Fixtures, Teams, Bracket, and How to Watch March Madness Basketball Match Live

March Madness reigns supreme in the Women’s NCAA Basketball Tournament Sweet 16 stage. The conclusion of the first two rounds of the 2025 women’s NCAA basketball tournament can only indicate that the Sweet 16 has arrived. Discover how to watch all the action live, the full bracket, and the full schedule for the upcoming round.
All four of the top seeds—South Carolina, Texas, Southern California, and UCLA—have made it through the first weekend, although USC appears to be having problems.
The Trojans’ next game will be against Kansas State without star player JuJu Watkins, who tore her anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) during Monday’s victory against Mississippi State.
Hailey van Lith’s TCU and Paige Bueckers’ UConn have advanced, meaning that all of the tournament’s No. 2 seeds have also advanced.
With a tied career-high 34 points, four assists, and four steals, the expected top pick of this year’s WNBA draft led the Huskies to a 91-57 victory over No. 10 South Dakota State.
All of the elite teams have advanced to the Sweet 16, but the main concern at the moment is how USC will fare in the face of more difficult competition without standout guard JuJu Watkins. During the first quarter against Mississippi State, the sophomore seemed to hurt her right leg and departed the court. The worst—an ACL tear in her right knee—was later confirmed by tests.
Like the other No. 1 seeds, Texas, South Carolina, and UCLA—the top overall seed—the Trojans made it to the next round despite losing their best player.
There have been 23 titles won by a No. 1 seed since the tournament’s expansion in 1994. No. 2 seeds have won the championship four times, while No. 3 seeds have done so three times. The most recent of them was LSU in 2023, a program that is once again ranked third this year and is participating in the Sweet 16 for the third time in a row.
As the most successful program in women’s basketball history with 11 national titles, it should come as no surprise that UConn is this year’s most dangerous No. 2 seed. Paige Bueckers tied a career-high 34 points in a dominant 91-57 victory over South Dakota State, sending Geno Auriemma’s team to its 31st consecutive Sweet 16. The Huskies have made it to 15 of the last 16 Final Fours, but they haven’t taken home a championship since 2016.
In the NCAA’s prestigious college tournament, the Sweet 16 round will take place from Friday, March 28, to Saturday, March 29. On Sunday, March 30, and Monday, March 31, there will be an opportunity to qualify for the Elite Eight.
