India’s first digital sports news channel Power Sportz files a complaint

Power Sportz, India’s first sports news and journalism channel on a digital platform, filed a complaint on 16 June, the day of India-Pakistan match, in the office of Commissioner of Police, Gurugram. The channel is famous for Kanthi D. Suresh, who is the Editor-in-Chief of the channel and hosts Power Sportz’s flagship show ‘Talking Turkey with Kanthi’, which is a first bold sports debate show in India.

As per the complaint, the channel has mentioned a person called the office on 12th June at the Power Sportz office, presenting himself as an employee of Ambience Mall, Gurugram and asking for the live streaming rights of India-Pakistan match, for the screening at the mall. 

Later it was confirmed that the man was masquerading as an employee of Ambience Mall when Power Sportz asked for official documents from him.  The Editor-in-Chief, Kanthi D.Suresh, cited in a statement there is no specific doubt on any group and it is up to the Gurugram police to investigate the case. She also emphasized that it was an attempt to disturb the ongoing coverage of the World Cup, which the channel commence every day within the knowledge of contractual accords.
